Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in the Tualatin Valley. This scenic stretch of valley, with its rushing waterfalls and natures vibrant colors and textures became the inspiration for a lifetime of creating and depicting what she sees, and feels.

Painting with Acrylics Shirley has worked with a variety of subjects. Meticulously detailing what she sees has become her signature style...whether painting florals, animals, seascapes or children. As the years have gone by, she always had a lively interest in the work of others...often joining a workshop or a seminar by well-known artists who have shared their expressive techniques. 'I always learn something new.'

She has currently moved to Winchester, Oregon and is teaching and painting in her new home studio. With her own easy paced teaching abilities, she offers personally supervised painting lessons with step by step instruction. ‘Creating a painting is a renewing experience, time stands still and you are able to let go of everything else’.
